It’s been quite a journey for the dogs and for many of us. For the dogs, the journeys continue.
Best Friends Animal Sanctuary has posted wrap-up articles and photos on their Web site with updates about some of the dogs.
Thank you for all of your help, encouragement and support.
We wish each and every dog a happy, healthy, comfort-filled new life!
Warmly,
Shannon

Update from Best Friends and.....puppies?
Earlier this week, we heard from staff at the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary that the four Gabbs dogs arrived safe and sound and are settling in. They reported that Nosey, Charles and Squeeky were all in their crates trying to pretend that they were invisible. Daisy was out pacing a bit but was responding when staff fed her treats.
Later in the day, the dogs were in the outdoor runs. Daisy seemed to perk up when she saw staff and was very attentive as she walked around - she would come to the fence, take a treat, walk away, come to the fence, take a treat, walk away, etc...
Best Friends staff will soon be working with all of the dogs to help them acclimate to their new home including introducing them to new dog and people friends and helping them get use to their new surrounds. We hope to receive pictures and if so, will share them here.
In the meantime, take a look at these puppies. Do they look familiar? Back in December when staff from The Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, The Nevada Humane Society and volunteers from The Yerington Animal Shelter visited the dogs on the ranch in Gabbs, they discovered a litter of 5 week old puppies. Polly had given birth and was keeping the puppies warm in a hole in the ground. Meanwhile another female dog in the run kept trying to move the puppies out of the hole.
Oh yes, and can you guess who daddy is? Our boy Arnie!
